I am continually searching for new ideas and beautiful products that I can add to our store. To be honest, this is the part that I really enjoy given that I'm a relatively new parent myself! My last blog gave ideas on how to go about designing your baby's room and the sort of finishing touches that you could consider. Our Baby Boutique has got some great products now which compliment each other beautifully so I thought I would share some of them! Creating a beautiful nursery for your baby

One of the most enjoyable things you can start to do before your baby is born is turn one of your rooms into a nursery.
My husband, Tom and I lived very happily in a City Centre apartment and had planned on starting our family there. It was only when speaking to one of my friends (who was relaying the story of a nursery that her brother was decorating for his expected bundle of joy) that we realised that unless we moved, we would miss out on that whole experience!
A lot of "savings" later and our little man has got his lovely nursery. We both thoroughly enjoyed the preparations we made for him and the process of creating his nursery. Archie Bear (as we call him) currently lives in his moses basket at the end of our bed at night time! (Only another 1.5 mths to go!) However, every time I walk into his nursery, whether it's to get him ready, change him or to read him a story, I know that I am really happy with the space that we have created for him in there and hope he will have many happy memories of his 1st ever bedroom.
So, where to start?
Firstly, it's really important to properly plan the theme or look that you want for your baby's nursery. Make sure you do your research. Think of the size of the room and how you will fit your furniture in. For those late night feeds, you will be forever grateful for a comfortable chair to sit in and if you have space to put a little table next to it, you can keep your favourite childrens books or magazines for you there... or for that matter, a nice cuppa!
Colour is important too. Tranquil colours will aid a baby's restful sleep and there are plenty of accessories that you can add to bring colours and patterns in to your little one's room to help stimulate their mind when they are awake!
Accessorising doesn't need to be expensive. Making things will help you to form a bond with your baby before they arrive, whether it's making a bag to put all their cuddly toys in, painting an old mirror to give it a new lease of life (babies LOVE mirrors) or ,if you are a bit more creative making pictures to put on the wall, there are plenty of things you can try to add your own personal touch.

Once you have decided on and completed the main part of the nursery...the decorating, you can really start to focus on making it into the enchanting space that a nursery should be. You will have heard the phrase "the attention is in the detail", well, never a more true word was spoken. It really is the finishing touches that can help to create a beautiful space for your baby.
Small toys, music boxes, keepsake boxes, mobiles, pictures on the wall, your baby's name/initials in letters, curtains, bedding, lamps and nightlights, bookends, cushions, coat hooks etc. The list goes on.
This is the fun part and really, it was this that inspired me to set up my baby boutique. A place which would have all the products that can really turn what is essentially just another room in a house, into your baby's nursery, a place for their imagination to develop, for them to feel safe and secure, to sleep in and a room filled with lots of things to see and do!
